Hello, world! My name is Daniel. I am currently in Manchester, UK. I have been working for a consultancy firm since graduating from university.
Q: What got you started in learning to code?
I have always been interested in coding and IT. There are a lot more digital jobs out there. It’s quite a booming industry. I think learning to code can help me realign my skills to meet the current and upcoming market demands. My experiences with coding have been great so far! It seems to be something I’d really enjoy doing. Coding is interesting and dynamic.
Q: How have your experiences with Altcademy been so far?
I am currently doing front-end web development. I’ve actually done some background courses on other online learning platforms before Altcademy.
Before Altcademy, it’s easy to be distracted by different available learning materials. Altcademy gets you very focused on mastering one thing at a time. It’s a lot of reading and exercises. The project helps you focus on the things you just learned. Then, you get feedback from the mentors, so I know I am on the right path, and I am learning the best practices.
Altcademy motivates me to finish all the lessons because if I can do the lessons in Altcademy, then I can do something worthwhile.
I feel like I have made significant progress so far! I am very incentivized to just keep going at it!
Q: What are your plans for the future?
Currently, my main goal is to become a front-end developer. I want to produce and write code every day. Coding also allows me to work remotely, and it’s a transferable skill in terms of geography that’s in demand worldwide.
I will also consider learning back-end web development afterward because there’s a lot of demand for full-stack web development.
