I'm from Brazil. I want to work remotely and work from home. The Brazilian currency is very weak, so I can get a job in dollars. It's way more stable, and I'm a back-end person, as I don't have much sense of ecstatics. I enjoy solving backend-related problems and I like architectures like object-oriented programming (OOP).
Q: Is it your first time learning to code?
I'm not a first-time learner of code. I'm an electrical engineer and I've been doing some programming since college, especially C and C++. I graduated and served in the military, and I've been working for the air force since 2016. I use Python for data science at work, and I have no problem with JavaScript. as I find it similar to Python. I'm learning a lot about bootstrap, CSS, and HTML though.
Q: Why did you choose Altcademy?
I found Altcademy on Google while searching for online coding bootcamps. I read a lot of research about different bootcamps and Altcademy had a very good price and rank. I also read a lot of reviews on Quora.com and many people talked about how the cost/benefit of Altcademy is very good.
Q: How do you like Altcademy so far?
I really like Altcademy so far. I like that the projects are self-paced and that I can read the lessons. As a programmer, you have to read documentation, so it’s a great practice to start learning by text as a programmer. I'm very excited about JavaScript and React. I find it pretty exciting. There’s more programming, and there is a lot of good practice.
Q: What are your goals?
I have two goals: finding a job and immersing myself in coding. I went to websites like Leetcode and Hacker Rank for 3 weeks and really enjoyed the challenge of coding. I now want to see what the job market looks like for coders.
